Back in 2013, artists Eric Gjerde and Ioana Stoian set up Busy Hands Books, a tiny independent publishing company based in the UK with the intent of creating books about paper crafts.

However, after a move to the US and the addition of two children to their family, this husband and wife team soon started to create titles for their children to enjoy. Their mission is to produce timeless books with high-quality artwork, books that celebrate childhood, books that encourage curiosity about the world we live in, and books that inspire families to spend time together outside in nature.

In 2024, nestled in a mountain valley in New Hampshire, they launched Curious Bird Books – a new publishing company to continue their endeavors.
